WHO WE ARE

The West Liberty Business Association is excited for the future of small business in West Liberty, Ohio. New members and new ideas are leading to big things for our community and our local businesses. There are many events organized by the WLBA including the annual Spring Fling, the Christmas-in-the-Village festivities, the Tour of Homes and summer Street Markets.

In 2015, we contracted with West Liberty's own Berry Digital Solutions, LLC to rebuild our community website, which will provide a centralized location for all community information. We feel this site will greatly benefit our community and local businesses. Made up of local business owner volunteers, we strive on bettering our community through small business. Without the success of West Liberty small business, the community economy would suffer. We understand the importance of volunteering our time to ensure our village thrives in ways we once before could only imagine.

WHAT WE DO

  • Maintain and update the Village website and Facebook page - provide centralized location for community info for residents and visitors
  • Provide restroom facilities/maps for the village and Annual Fire Sales in May
  • Organize Summer Street Markets
  • Organize and advertise for Spring and Fall Open Houses for downtown stores
  • Organize Tour of Homes
  • Organize Christmas in the Village - Parade, Santa, Snacks, 5K, etc. 
  • Organize and Promote Small Business Saturday
  • Sponsor Fourth of July fireworks (Donate $$$)
  • Decorate downtown streetscape for all seasons/holidays, update wreaths, flags, etc. as needed
  • Promote West Liberty as a destination in nearby communities/across the state
  • Facilitate coordination and partnerships between local businesses, Chambers and Visitors' Bureaus
  • Welcome new businesses to the area
  • Create brochures promoting West Liberty as a destination
  • Build "welcome center" along bike trail- encouraging path users to explore our town
  • Provide promotional Save the Date Rack Cards as well as updated trifold brochures to be handed out promoting tourism in the village
  • Provide MyWestLiberty bags filled with treats for garage sale days, new resident meet and greets, and during the Summer Street Market
  • Sponsor Shop Local First Ad Campaign on WPKO
  • Host an Annual Dinner meeting
  • Work with the Village and Historical Society and Piatt Castle on continued joint endeavors
  • Decorate the Logan County Branch Library window downtown in November and raffle off a Snowflake Basket
  • Work with the Village Council to institute a Business of the Month for West Liberty to recognize local businesses

SHOP LOCAL

For Every $100 spent in independently owned stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend that in a national chain, $43 stays here. Spend it online, and nothing comes home. #SHOPLOCAL

WLBA MEETING MINUTES

The WLBA usually meets on the 2nd Wednesday (as schedules allow) of each month at 5:30 P.M. at The Mad River Farm Market (unless otherwise noted below).  We are always looking for members to get involved in event planning, and leadership roles, and it is a great opportunity to get your business name out there.
