We’re excited to update you on everything happening with the WLBA. Reflecting on last year, we’re grateful for the chance to hold events, gather as a community, and support local businesses. Thank you for being part of our Association. We look forward to continuing to serve you and strengthen our community and commerce. We hope this message finds you well. Here are some highlights from this year and upcoming events in 2024:
Hello Spring Shop Hop in March with the Easter Bunny in partnership with the Lion’s Club
Annual Dinner meeting in January at the Opera House
Sponsored free hot dogs to children for Raising Arrows Event
Planned and promoted The Summer Street Market and Car Show June 29! This took place the same weekend as The Force Ball Tournament, the Lion's Club Fish Fry, and the Fireworks – it included local vendors and food trucks; more than 40 cars participated despite the rain, stores stayed open late, and we had two live musicians who provided musical entertainment all day!
Held the 2nd Annual Summer Garden Tour June 15, and it was a great success!
Sponsored the Country Legends Concert Series concert August 31 and raffled off our 2 seats to 2 members of the WLBA as a perk of being a member!
Provided our SECOND scholarship that was awarded to Lily Weaver! This will now be an annual scholarship for WLS for students! We hope to offer 2 $500 scholarships this year!
Partnered with the Village of West Liberty for the PINK OUT EVENT in the Village on Sept 26 and for Paint LOCO Pink!
Our members held a Health Fair FREE to the public on Sept. 26! Thank you, Hickory Medical DPC!
The WLBA took over Business of the Month for West Liberty to recognize local businesses and that has been a great success! It has been an opportunity for the community to learn about our local businesses and we would like to continue this!
We started a CA$H MOB event that has been very well attended and has brought lots of business to our area stores! This has been an incredible way to introduce shoppers to our local retail businesses!
We will hold the 3rd annual Spooktacular event in downtown West Liberty October 31 during trick or treat. This has been a very well attended event and a great success!
Wreath Auction! We will be auctioning 12 Christmas wreaths this year! Please contact the Village to bid!
We will hold the West Liberty Christmas in the Village events including Christmas Open Houses on Nov. 1 & 2, the Christmas Parade and 5K Luminary Run Nov 29, (Black Friday) and Small Business Saturday Nov 30! The Christmas Tour of Homes is scheduled for December 7 from 5-8pm and should be a great event for our downtown!
A big THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered their time and resources this past year! We couldn’t have done it without you. We look forward to continuing partnerships with local organizations like the Village Council, Lion’s Club, Historical Society, the Country Legends Concert Series, the Piatt Castle, Ohio Caverns, and the Logan and Champaign County Chambers and Visitor’s Bureaus, as well as others, to improve our community and attract more visitors, benefiting us all.
