Village Leaf Pick-Up
Leaf season is here and the Street Dept. has started to pick them up. To make sure your leaves get picked up please place them close to the street as possible but not in the street. If placed in the street, they clog storm drains and get run over by traffic which makes them hard to pick up. Do not place them close to trees or mailboxes and do not park your vehicles in front of them as we cannot reach them with the leaf machine. Please do not put sticks or yard waste in leaf pile as this clogs the machine. Make sure there is no trash in leaves as this is against EPA rules.
When leaves start to fall heavily we will be picking up leaves most days of the week. If your leaves are not out when we go by it may be a week before we get back as it takes time to cover the whole town. We usually stop picking up leaves at Thanksgiving as we need to get the trucks switched over for snow removal. If your leaves did not get picked up last year it is because they were put out after we were done for the season. If weather permits, we may possibly run longer, check back for updates.
