Sat. May 15, 2027: WEST LIBERTY'S ANNUAL FIRE SALESWest Liberty's Annual Fire Sales are usually held the 3rd Saturday in May. Sales start early Saturday morning and continue through about 5pm.
Promote your fire sales in the Official Facebook Event! During the Saturday Fire Sales, the village of West Liberty provides port-o-johns for our visitors at 4 locations: CT Communications building (205 N. Detroit St.), Bethel Mennonite Church (416 Washington St.), near the old Tiger Hut (412 W. Baird St.) and Thoman's IGA (201 S. Detroit St.). There are also public restrooms at Town Hall and Lions Club Park. The "Fire Sales" refer to the town fire disaster of 1880. The fire started in a barn and spread through town destroying many businesses and several homes. It was the worst in village history, and the town rallied to support the residents and business owners who lost nearly everything in the fire. |
