WEST LIBERTY'S ANNUAL FIRE SALES - Saturday, May 19(Always held on the 3rd Saturday in May)
2018 West Liberty Annual Fire Sales (Garage Sale Day) is Saturday, May 19th Share sales on the official Facebook Event page! And don't forget to visit the village's shops and restaurants, many of which will also feature "Fire Sales". Local food trucks have also been invited to the village. The "Fire Sales" refer to the town fire disaster of 1880. The fire started in a barn and spread through town destroying many businesses and several homes. It was the worst in village history, and the town rallied to support the residents and business owners who lost nearly everything in the fire. Sales start at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. Following West Liberty's Fire Sales, head out to Lions Club Park for a traditional West Liberty Lions Club Fish Fry fundraiser. The fish fry takes place at the big shelter house from 5-7pm.

2018 Date: Saturday, June 30th West Liberty Lions' Club Community Fish Fry from 5-7pm at Lions' Club Park followed by FIREWORKS at dusk. The West Liberty Fourth of July firework show is 100% funded by local donations, and we are in need of donations for the 2018 show. To donate, visit The Peoples Savings and Loan Company in downtown West Liberty and ask to donate to an account set up on behalf of the Fourth of July fireworks show. Several downtown businesses also collect in their shops for the fireworks. |

4th ANNUAL YOUNG LIFE MEMORIAL RUN2018 Date: Saturday, July 7, 7-10pm
The YLM Run brings together families and friends of children gone too soon, to share the love they left behind. Families who have experienced the loss of a child are warmly invited to submit their loved one’s information to the degree of their comfort, to be honored on the 2.5 mile course. Each life is represented: The “Each-One-Counts-Mile” will feature a white flag for each loss during pregnancy. The last mile will host memorial marker signs and balloon bouquets with names and pictures of infants, children and young adults. |

41st ANNUAL 5K BOSS SUMMER RUN2018 Date: TBA (Typically on a Saturday morning in late August)
The Annual 5K BOSS Summer Run and Big Orange 1 Mile Fun Run for ages 10 and under. The Fun Run will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9:00 a.m. The entry fee is $20 before August 12th and $25 after that date. The fun run entry fee is $5. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers of the 5K race and gift certificates will be awarded to the top male and female finishers of each age division. 9th ANNUAL LIBERTY HALF MARATHON - New Year's Day, 9amMonday, Jan. 1, 2019: 9:00 a.m.
New Year's Day Half Marathon starting in West Liberty and ending in East Liberty, Ohio. Race starts at 9:00 a.m. Scenic, rolling countryside with one large steep hill. $30 entry fee with all proceeds benefiting the West Liberty Salem girls track and field team. Race day registration $40. Race day registration will be held at Subway, just up the street from Marie's. All runners will receive a race t-shirt. The race begins at Marie's Candies in West Liberty and finishes at Reliant Mechanical, Inc. in East Liberty. There will be shuttles at both the start and finish. The West Liberty "Spring Fling" is a Friday and Saturday in March where the downtown (and some non-downtown) shops host their annual Spring Open Houses. New springtime inventory is on display. Many of the shops have special weekend-long sales to kickoff the spring season, and downtown will feature new spring decorations and springtime music. |
