March 24-April 1: West Liberty's Annual Spring Open HousesOpen Houses in the shops in town. Shops will have Spring specials. The Smokin' Bandits Food Truck will be in the village on Saturday, March 25th from 11am-3pm.
Pick up a Shopping Passport for chances to win a gift certificate. Shoppers have 9 days to fill their Passports, beginning March 24 and running through April 1. Sunday, April 2nd: The Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt will be Sunday, April 2nd at 3pm at Lion’s Club Park. Proudly sponsored by Marie's Candies, the Easter Egg Hunt is open to all kids 5th grade and younger. Children will be grouped by age. |

Sat. May 20, 2023: WEST LIBERTY'S ANNUAL FIRE SALESWest Liberty's Annual Fire Sales are usually held the 3rd Saturday in May. Sales start early Saturday morning and continue through about 5pm.
Promote your fire sales in the Official Facebook Event. During the Saturday Fire Sales, the West Liberty Business Association provides port-o-johns for our visitors at 4 locations: CT Communications building (205 N. Detroit St.), Bethel Mennonite Church (416 Washington St.), near the old Tiger Hut (412 W. Baird St.) and Thoman's IGA (201 S. Detroit St.). There are also public restrooms at Town Hall and Lions Club Park. The "Fire Sales" refer to the town fire disaster of 1880. The fire started in a barn and spread through town destroying many businesses and several homes. It was the worst in village history, and the town rallied to support the residents and business owners who lost nearly everything in the fire. |
Sat. May 27. 2023, 10am-12pm: Splash Pad Opening DayThe Splash Pad Grand Opening is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. In 2023, that will be Saturday, May 27th from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM. The first 50 kids will receive goodie bags and the West Liberty Fire Department will be there with fire trucks, along with the Macochee Joint Ambulance and West Liberty Police Dept.

(West Liberty's Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration is typically held the last Saturday in June.) FIREWORKS begin at dusk at Lions Club Ballpark. . There are also softball games all day long at Lions Club Ballpark, and 10U, 12U & 14U baseball tournaments at Dodge Park and Kingscreek Community Park. The West Liberty Fourth of July firework show is 100% funded by local donations, and we are in need of donations for the next show. To donate, visit The Peoples Savings and Loan Company in downtown West Liberty and ask to donate to an account set up on behalf of the Fourth of July fireworks show. Several downtown businesses also collect in their shops for the fireworks. |
Sun. June 25, 11AM-4PM: 19th century style Independence Day CelebrationFree Public Events at Piatt Castle Mac-A-Cheek
Bring a picnic, buy a slice of Independence Day cake, learn how to play cricket and roll hoops, enjoy historical tunes and storytelling about July 4th customs, make “safe” firecrackers and watch them fly, listen to the Declaration of Independence, watch musket firing, and help make the cannon boom. July, 2023: 9th ANNUAL YOUNG LIFE MEMORIAL RUN2023 Date: TBA
(Typically 6:45pm-10pm on a Saturday evening in mid-July) The YLM Run brings together families and friends of children gone too soon, to share the love they left behind. Families who have experienced the loss of a child are warmly invited to submit their loved one’s information to the degree of their comfort, to be honored on the 2.4 mile course. Each life is represented: The “Each-One-Counts-Mile” will feature a white flag for each loss during pregnancy. The last mile will host memorial marker signs and balloon bouquets with names and pictures of infants, children and young adults. West Liberty's Annual Ice Cream Social takes place on a Saturday evening in late July at West Liberty United Methodist Church from 4 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. There will be plenty of food and fellowship outside in the back of the church building under tents. Everyone is welcome to attend. The menu includes noodles, sandwiches, desserts & always homemade ice cream! All proceeds from annual event always benefits a local family in need. The event is being sponsored by the area churches and the West Liberty Lions Club. |

A 5K race in the rolling West Liberty countryside and a 1-Mile Fun Run for kids 10 and under. Race starts and ends in Lions' Club Park. The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 9:00 a.m. Prizes for top 3 male and female finishers and race medals for all participants. There will be great door prizes. All 9 individual sponsored trees will be on display at the Town Hall Clerks Office from: 8am - 4pm (closed 12-1) on Mon. Tue. Thu. and Fri. and from 8am - 12 on Wed.
You can either stop in or call in a bid at 937-465-2716. Bidding will end on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 5pm. Come in and bid on your favorite tree - highest bid wins! All funds raised will go toward the non-profit West Liberty Business Association for the betterment of our community. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 - West Liberty Village Christmas Lights Contest
Everyone living within the village of West Liberty is encouraged to decorate the outside of their home for Christmas before the Christmas Home Tour. On the evening of the Christmas Home Tour (Saturday, December 9, 2023), attendees and residents are encouraged to walk or drive around the community and upload a photo to Facebook of their favorite decorated home using the hashtag #wlchristmaslights. The home that receives the most votes will win $50 in Liberty Bucks to be spent shopping locally just in time for the holidays! |
