Friday, November 24, 2017 – Christmas Open Houses in Shops & Marie's Candies
(Marie's Candies Open House is from 9:00am-3:00pm and includes samples, candy making demonstrations and FREE gingerbread house decorating for kids 12 and under. Marie's Candies retail store is open from 8:00am-6:00pm.)
Paul Kari (pictured), a former POW in Vietnam and West Liberty native, has written a fascinating book on his life experiences. On Friday, Nov. 24, he will be signing books at Town Hall and donating the $30 cost of each to the Opera House Renovation. WEST LIBERTY'S 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SALE
12 Days of Christmas Sale postcards (pictured) will be available starting at West Liberty's Christmas-in-the-Village Parade. Find the postcards in participating West Liberty businesses.
The back of the postcard names participating stores and their corresponding sale dates from December 11-23. When you visit these stores on their promotional date, you will also have an opportunity to enter a drawing to win "Liberty Bucks", which are redeemable at the participating locations.

8th ANNUAL LIBERTY HALF MARATHON - New Year's Day, 9am
Monday, Jan. 1, 2018: 9:00 a.m.
New Year's Day Half Marathon starting in West Liberty and ending in East Liberty, Ohio. Race starts at 9:00 a.m. Scenic, rolling countryside with one large steep hill. $30 entry fee with all proceeds benefiting the West Liberty Salem girls track and field team. Race day registration $40. Race day registration will be held at Subway, just up the street from Marie's. Timing provided by www.finishtiming.com All runners will receive a race t-shirt. The race begins at Marie's Candies in West Liberty and finishes at Reliant Mechanical, Inc. in East Liberty. There will be shuttles at both the start and finish.

WEST LIBERTY'S ANNUAL "SPRING FLING"
2018 Dates: Friday & Saturday, March TBA
The West Liberty "Spring Fling" is a Friday and Saturday in March where the downtown (and some non-downtown) shops host their annual Spring Open Houses. New springtime inventory is on display. Many of the shops have special weekend-long sales to kickoff the spring season, and downtown will feature new spring decorations and springtime music.
WEST LIBERTY BUSINESS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL DINNER MEETING

Our Annual West Liberty Business Association Dinner Meeting is typically held on an April weekday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Foundation Hall in Green Hills Community. There is a dinner, a short business meeting, featured speaker, and a silent auction open to all WLBA members.
Annual dues payments will be accepted at the annual meeting (cash, check or charge) or can be mailed to WLBA, P.O. Box 684, West Liberty, OH 43357. Please make checks payable to The West Liberty Business Association.
WEST LIBERTY'S ANNUAL FIRE SALES - Saturday, May 19

2018 West Liberty Annual Fire Sales (Garage Sale Day) is Saturday, May 19th
Share sales on the official Facebook Event page! Don't forget to visit the village's shops and restaurants, many of which will also feature "Fire Sales". Local food trucks have also been invited to the village.
The "Fire Sales" refer to the town fire disaster of 1880. The fire started in a barn and spread through town destroying many businesses and several homes. It was the worst in village history, and the town rallied to support the residents and business owners who lost nearly everything in the fire.
Sales start at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. (Times approximate.)
DOWNTOWN WEST LIBERTY SUMMER STREET MARKETS

Join us in Downtown West Liberty on select Fridays from 3:00-7:00pm for a relaxing and festive experience. Vendors will be displaying and selling their products. Most shops will be open late so you can find the perfectly scented candle, garden accessory, or piece of furniture while you take in the sights and sounds of a busy downtown atmosphere. The Grove will also feature special Open Houses, refreshments, Live Music, and food trucks on select Fridays for your enjoyment.

West Liberty Lions' Club Community Fish Fry from 5-7pm at Lions' Club Park followed by FIREWORKS at dusk.
The West Liberty Fourth of July firework show is 100% funded by local donations, and we are in need of donations for the 2018 show. To donate, visit The Peoples Savings and Loan Company in downtown West Liberty and ask to donate to an account set up on behalf of the Fourth of July fireworks show. Several downtown businesses also collect in their shops for the fireworks.
4th ANNUAL YOUNG LIFE MEMORIAL RUN
2018 Date TBA (Typically takes place in July)
Join us in West Liberty's Lions' Club Park for a 2.5 mile run/walk in memory of young lives lost too soon with their families and friends.
Each life will be represented on the course: The “Each-One-Counts-Mile” will feature a white flag for each miscarriage and loss in utero. The last mile will host memorial markers of infants, children and young adults.
We will kick off the event with a Rainbow Kiddie Dash for ages 2-8 years old, and wrap it up with a "Light Up for Life" Sky Lantern Release at sunset.

The Annual 5K BOSS Summer Run and Big Orange 1 Mile Fun Run for ages 10 and under. The Fun Run will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9:00 a.m.
The entry fee is $20 before August 12th and $25 after that date. The fun run entry fee is $5. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers of the 5K race and gift certificates will be awarded to the top male and female finishers of each age division.
