Village of West Liberty Updates

West Liberty Calendars for Sale

7/22/2022

Our West Columbus Street Pratt Pony Truss Bridge is among the oldest surviving metal truss bridges in Ohio, commissioned to be built in 1879.  It is the only known example of the Ohio Bridge and Iron Works Company from Urbana; a company established by William H. Black, an innovative bridge builder from Lancaster, Ohio.

The Pony Truss bridge was closed in 2013 due to unsafe conditions. This calendar has been put together to preserve the efforts of the residents who lived here nearly 150 years ago. They built the bridge for themselves and looking forward, they built it for us.

If you are interested in purchasing a calendar, they can be picked up in Town Hall for $10.00 cash/check.

Also, in December, it is already marked for our Business Association Tour of Homes!
