As you know, we have been working to update the natural hazard mitigation plan for the past year. The final draft is now available for review and comment beginning July 9th and running through July 25th. There are multiple ways to see the plan during the review period. An electronic copy of The Logan County Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan draft is posted at http://www.consultrsa.com/logan.html. You do not need a password to access the document. The plan is in PDF format and can be read, downloaded, or printed from the site. Comments can be submitted easily through the website. There is also a downloadable PDF here and at the bottom of this page. Printed copies of the plan will be available for review with EMA Staff present to assist and accept comments at the following locations: July 10th – 15th Noon to 8:00 PM Logan County Fairgrounds – EMA Booth in the Merchants Building July 17 – 21st 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Logan County Emergency Management Agency 1855 St. Rt. 47 West, Bellefontaine July 24 – 25th 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Logan County Emergency Management Agency 1855 St. Rt. 47 West, Bellefontaine Please take time to review the plan, and specifically the sections that pertain to your jurisdiction, before the July 25th deadline. We would greatly appreciate receiving your suggestions, concerns and feedback, or positive comments and will have a short form available for use by those who review a paper copy. After this review period ends and any changes are made, the plan will be submitted to the State of Ohio Emergency Management Agency for their review. Submission to the state is expected by no later than July 28th, 2023. Upon completion of the state review, the plan will be sent to FEMA Region V in Chicago for final review and approval. Those two steps take approximately 90 days, though that is a tentative projection and we have no control over the time frame. After FEMA approval, the Logan County Commissioners will adopt the plan and the municipalities will be asked to adopt it as well.
