1. When did your business open?
July 2016
2. How many employees are there at your business?
1
3. How did you start your business?
The house was purchased in March of 2016 with renovations starting soon thereafter. A full renovation of the house includes a new roof, new plumbing and electric, newly renovated bathroom, updated kitchen, and refinishing the previously hidden hardwood floors. I have had a blast working with the contractors on paint colors, tile choices, flooring, etc., and even more fun finding furnishings to reflect the 1920-30's era! My first guests arrived on July 7th.
4. Why did you start your business?
There is such a need in the surrounding community for good lodging options. I have dreamed of owning my own bed and breakfast for many years, and have even kept a journal of ideas since 2009. I love my community, and want to share it with others. But with having another full time business and a son still in school, a multi room bed and breakfast was out of the question. When we saw this little two bedroom bungalow with the marvelous woodwork, we knew we could still serve the community's visitors, but on a smaller scale.
5. How did your business get its name?
My childhood nickname was Bobbi Jo. And the house is a bungalow style from the very early 1900's. Thus Bobbi's Bungalow.
6. What’s something unique about your business that customers might not know?
Bobbi's Bungalow is a 1920's style bungalow with two bedrooms and one bath. Guests enjoy the luxury of the whole house and secluded yard to themselves during their stay. They are within an easy walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown West Liberty and so many fun places to visit.
7. Why did you choose West Liberty for the location of your business?
West Liberty is where I live and work. It is a quaint little community with a wonderful home town atmosphere and friendly people.
8. What’s your favorite local area event?
Labor Day Festival
9. Why are you a member of the West Liberty Business Association?
To be a part of the business community and work closely with other local business people.
10. How do you use MyWestLiberty.com?
I refer guests to it for information about the community and things to visit.
11. Where are your favorite places to #ShopLocal?
Subway has been a staple for me during renovations being almost right next door! And we are so fortunate to have Thoman's IGA in our town with such a great deli, hot lunch counter, fresh meats and a great variety of groceries.
12. Do you have any upcoming promotions, events, sales or anything else you would like to add?
Bobbi's Bungalow will be on the Fall Tour of Homes in October!
